Payton Brown

Payton lives for the groove, the place where bass, drums, melody, and feel lock together and a song suddenly comes alive. Rooted in funk, soul, R&B, and jazz, her playing is expressive, intentional, and always in service of the song. She loves bass lines with personality, space, and purpose, and knows that sometimes the note you don’t play matters just as much as the one you do.

Now studying Popular Music at the USC Thornton School of Music in Los Angeles, Payton is in a new chapter, surrounded by musicians, sounds, and ideas that continue to push her creatively. She’s playing, listening, collaborating, and exploring where her own sound fits into all of it
